Dear Colleagues,

Genomics is the area of knowledge concerned with understanding the genomes of various species. Computer science and mathematics have played an important role along with biology. A lot of the mathematics here has been done with algorithms that involve strings and comparison with strings, involving the notion of an alignment. This survey article looks at methodology for genomics that use different ideas with new insights and some advantages.
