Detecting gerrymandering

Postby Joseph Malkevitch » Sat Oct 14, 2017 2:07 pm

Dear Colleagues,

Much attention has been paid recently to gerrymandering and how to detect that it is being done. The Supreme Court is considering a case of "political gerrymandering" and whether the Supreme Court should monitor redistricting plans produced by highly partisan legislatures. This article looks at some aspects of the consequences of using a particular measure of detecting gerrymandering.
