Computational biology conference

Postby Joseph Malkevitch » Mon Jan 08, 2018 12:47 pm

Dear Colleagues,

I have never attended a computational biology conference and I don't know if this series of conferences is of particular of interest to mathematicians. But I do look at announcements of conferences such as this one to get an idea of the kinds of questions/areas that interest workers in the field of computational biology. It seems to me that interesting new questions in discrete mathematics continue to be investigated in part because they clearly have practical interest to those doing computational biology. Theoretical mathematics and applied mathematics can and should work together.
