Women and Computer Science

Postby Joseph Malkevitch on Tue Nov 25, 2008 3:21 pm

Dear Friends,

The NY Times had an interesting article in the Sunday, November 16, 2008, Business Section, pg. 4. The article is entitled "What Has Driven Women Out of Computer Science?"

The article includes an interesting chart which shows the percentages of men and women who indicated computer science as a probably major from 1971 and 2007. Whereas in the 70's and until 1994 the percentages for men and women were somewhat the same, this is no longer the case.

Regards,

Joe
